Meagan wins Bronze at World Championships!

Meagan Duhamel and her partner Eric Radford have won their second Bronze medal in World championships after a strong performance in Japan.  The pair had a season-best score in the pairs short program Wednesday which placed them in second place with 77.01 points.

Meagan, who was a finalist in the vote for vegan athlete of the year 2012 and 2013 has with her partner for less than four years, yet the pair have won national Canadian titles and several international medals.

Following a recent team Silver in the Sochi winter Olympics, it seems the pair are now comfortable with their status.

“We came back from the Olympics feeling like we had achieved all our goals,” said Meagan. “We feel very settled but from this point on we’re going to be competing for ourselves and not worry about every little point.”

The free skate on the following day saw the pair skate well barring a small fall by Meagan, which they overcame quickly.  They reflected that the Bronze was in many ways more valuable to them than the previous Bronze at World Championships, as it came after such a demanding season.
